May 3, 2022
The UPS Foundation and the Ukraine Freedom Alliance today announced a collaboration to provide additional humanitarian aid and relief to Ukraine. The partnership will facilitate the donation of available cargo space on upcoming UPS flights to Poland to deliver critical supplies across the border into Ukraine. UPS mobilized more than 64,000 pounds of essential food supplies on Monday, May 2 to UPS’s World Port hub in Louisville, Kentucky, as part of its commitment to transport an additional 80 Metric Tons of relief for Ukraine Refugees.
“The UPS Foundation is proud to support the unique, strategic delivery capabilities of the Ukraine Freedom Alliance,” said Nicole Clifton, president of Social Impact and The UPS Foundation. “Combining the logistics and operational power of UPS with the pipeline established by the Ukraine Freedom Alliance helps deliver life saving and sustaining humanitarian relief to those in dire need, supplementing our existing partnerships.”
The Ukraine Freedom Alliance is a nonprofit group of American and Ukrainian patriots, service organizations, and industry partners providing relief, volunteers, and support to the people of Ukraine. The Ukraine Freedom Alliance is dedicated to leveraging its unique strategic logistics pipeline — powered by former U.S. and Ukraine special operations forces — to deliver critical humanitarian aid such as food and medical supplies directly to where it is most needed.
“The Ukraine Freedom Alliance is humbled and honored to team with the global leader in logistics and cargo to help Ukraine,” said Ukraine Freedom Alliance President Phil Anderson. “The UPS Foundation providing donated lift and ground transportation is nothing less than heroic and will make a material impact on the vital efforts of those on the ground.”
As part of the effort, The UPS Foundation will also donate ground delivery services to complete the transfer of humanitarian aid from its U.S. pickup location to its facilities in Poland. From there, the Ukraine Freedom Alliance strategic logistics network will deliver the aid to specific, pre-approved end users. Most importantly, the aid will move directly where needed thanks to the Ukraine Freedom Alliance Pipeline. All humanitarian aid delivered on behalf of the partnership will be coordinated for end use by Ukrainian officials, the Ukraine Freedom Alliance, and select NGO partners. The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine will support the effort, as appropriate.
